Thrilled that this collection, a mini modern symphony you could call it, has been given the Clouzine Best Electronic Classical EP award for Spring 2021. This was a departure for me, to create something which harked back to my Music A level studies and performances of piano and violin up to grade 7 while at school. While retaining an accessible contemporary feel, which has no direct comparison out there (as far as I can tell). I had no idea how much being in orchestras (and choirs) all my life had influenced an innate sense of composition, which until recently, I had never explored.
In fact, as some of you kind people will know, I only started making music digitally, on garageband, last summer during lockdown and have been astonished at the reaction generated for my instrumentals, which are genre fluid. Using Electronic music methods to create tracks with traditional pop song structure has been fun on my debut EP and there will be a return to this approach for my album, which is in development. This EP is a standalone experiment to see if I could create something which would pass for contemporary classical. So I will watch the reaction with interest when it is available for streaming at the end of February.
